Horta Museum

Horta, a monument.
The name of Victor Horta is just as difficult to dissociate from the city of Brusselsas is that of ’Haussmann for Paris.
As the leader of the Art nouveauperiod, he had his residence and workshop built according to his own plans between 1898 and 1901, in the superior part of the Saint Gilles area.
As a perfect example of his architectural creativity it's quite logical that his house was transformed into a museum which every year draws tens of thousands of admirers of his style.
This is the result of a rejection of the classical and the introduction of imitation metallic structures, the fashioning of which is inspired paradoxically from nature, making these cold materials into harmonious curves. In the same way he creates spaces flooded with a generous light using glass walls bringing out the fluidity of their lines.
